The www-subdomain in a Versio SSL certificate

With all our SSL certificates, the 'www' sub domain is included in the security free of charge. But does this apply in all cases? The answer to that is: No.

When is the 'www' sub domain not included in the security of an SSL certificate?

In the following scenarios the 'www' sub domain is not included in the security of an SSL certificate:

1. If you request an SSL certificate for 'domain.uk', the SSL certificate shall only apply for 'domain.uk' and the 'www' sub domain is not included in the security of the SSL certificate. If you request the SSL certificate for 'www.domain.uk', 'domain.uk' will be included for free.

2. If you request the SSL certificate for a sub domain other than 'www', you will only get the SSL certificate for that sub domain. So suppose you request an SSL certificate for 'subdomain.domain.uk', then 'www.subdomain.domain.uk' will not be included for free. Even if you request an SSL certificate for 'www.subdomain.domain.uk', 'subdomain.domain.uk' will not be included for free.
